Brazilian Mad Max

Filmed in the hinterlands of Bahia and Pernambuco, Reza a Lenda, which comes out next month, is being called the Brazilian Mad Max. See why

In English, “reza a lenda” means “legend has it / according to legend”, and the film carries with it some regional religious overtones.

“Legend has it that the image of a saint is enough to make it rain in the backlands but only if placed in the right spot. There’s a shaman who knows where that saint is and where it should be taken. But for him to reveal his secrets, a price must be paid.” [1]
