Gastronomia Sertaneja


Ana Rita Suassuna (cousin of the famous Ariano Suassuna) is the author of “Gastronomia Sertaneja: Receitas que contam histórias” (Sertaneja Gastronomy: Recipes that tell stories). Launched in 2010, it contains 202 pages of “culinary suggestions from the northeast, traditional recipes, histories of dishes, ingredients and the festivals where they are served.” Unfortunately, it costs quite a bit. On the virtual bookstore Estante Virtual, it’s going for between R$120 (used) and R$160 (new).
