Two awesome-looking events are coming up in the following weeks.
A new initiative called Feira do Bem will start up on September 2nd, at 1030am and go until 4pm with the idea of always occurring on the first Sunday of every month. It’s all about “the collective urge to occupy the streets in a lively way.”
The neighborhood of Boa Vista, between Dom Pedro Henrique and Conde D’eu streets is where it will be going down, free of charge. Microproducers, handicraft makers, artists and other professionals will be there and any others are welcome to come. At the location, anyone can participate in the sale of their own products, such as special foods, artistic works, clothes, accessories, etc. Educative activities and various mini events (live music, plays, films, capoeira, dance and yoga) will also be held. The idea is to incentivize exchanges between people and strengthen social relations, thereby promoting peace.
The second cool, albeit annual, event is called Pequeno Encontro da Fotografia.
“Interfaces, convergences, hybridism. Contact points and inflection between analog and digital processes, between still image and motion made for discussion. This is the goal of Pequeno Encontro da Fotografia, an annual event dedicated to promoting dialogue on the integration of languages and media in the field of Photography. The first edition is sponsored by Funcultura and will occur from the 18th to the 22nd of September with the historic backdrop of Olinda.
For five days, the meeting intends to create environments conducive to trade, learning, reflection and enjoyment of images. We want to create an interface for an intense dialogue between the guests, participants and residents of the city, thereby strengthening the network of creative photography in Brazil.”
